Samasti Upanayanam
Upanayanam samskāram is performed for Brahmin vadus once a year at Taramani, Chennai. Our motto is to promote regular performance of Trikāla Sandhyāvandanam and initiate them into learning of respective Veda Sākās after upanayanam. Online Classes are been organized for the same.
- Vadus who are of 11 years or less.
- Interested in learning vaidikam practices, etc.
- Difficult to organize upanayanam by themselves.
- Unable to meet all the expenses to conduct upanayanam..
Samasti Upanayanam 2024
Shri Kainkaryam Kriya Trust conducted its 4th year Samashti upanayanam for 5 vadus on 28th April 2024, at Taramani Chennai.
Udakashanthi started at 6 am in the morning with 10 Vedic scholars Participating in it. This was followed by Yagnopaveetha dharanam(Wearing of Sacred Thread), Brahmopadesam(Preaching of Gayatri Mantra). Upanayanam for each vadu was performed separately by a brihaspati.
Dr U.Ve T.N. Aravamudhachariar was present at the event and presented a book on “Esoteric Meanings of Upanayana Mantras” to all the vadus. A short discourse highlighting the importance of Upanayana Samskara was delivered by one of the brihaspathi.
Around 150 people attended the event. Bhojanam for arranged for all the people. The grand conduct of all the proceedings was highly appreciated by everyone.
